Senegalese football legend and former Liverpool star El Hadji Diouf has arrived in Uganda for a four-day visit focused on football development. The former 2002 World Cup standout will engage in a series of activities aimed at promoting the sport in the country.
Diouf’s visit is organized by the Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) in collaboration with Big Talent Soccer Academy, an academy founded by renowned Ugandan musician Eddy Kenzo. Upon arrival, he was received by Eddy Kenzo, along with former Uganda Cranes players Hassan Wasswa and Tony Mawejje.
During his stay, Diouf will take part in multiple engagements, including attending the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup Qualifier match between Uganda and Kenya at Nakivubo Stadium. Additionally, he will interact with young players and coaches at Big Talent Soccer Academy, sharing his vast experience in football.

This visit marks a significant moment for Ugandan football, as Diouf had previously been scheduled to visit the country in 2019, but the trip did not materialize. His presence now is expected to inspire young footballers and contribute to the growth of the sport in Uganda.
Diouf, a two-time African Footballer of the Year, enjoyed a successful career playing for top clubs, including Liverpool, Bolton Wanderers, and Rangers. His expertise and experience will undoubtedly add value to Uganda’s football development efforts during his visit.
