Former Uganda Cranes forward Mike Sulaiman Mutyaba has resigned from his coaching role at Buddu FC, effective September 4, 2023.
Mutyaba, who was appointed as Buddu FC’s first assistant coach at the start of the season, has decided to leave his role to pursue another opportunity elsewhere.
In a letter to Buddu FC team manager Mr. Zziwa Steven, Mutyaba said: “I am writing to you to serve as notice of my resignation from my position as Assistant Coach Buddu FC as of September 4, 2023”.
“I had a fulfilling experience working at Buddu FC but have chosen to leave to pursue another opportunity elsewhere. My last day is today September 4, 2023.”
Mutyaba thanked Buddu FC for the opportunity they had given him and for the support they had provided him during his time at the club. He also wished Buddu FC great success in the future.
Mutyaba’s resignation comes just hours after Buddu FC secured their place in the quarterfinals of the Masaza Cup.
Buddu defeated Buluuli 2-1 yesterday to finish second on the table and advance to the quarterfinals, where they will face Kyadondo this Sunday.
Mutyaba’s departure is a blow to Buddu FC, who are now without their first-choice assistant coach.
However, the club are confident that they will be able to find a suitable replacement in the coming weeks.
