During his time, striker Tony Odur was among the highly talented forwards, and with his talent, he went on to represent the Uganda national football team.
The experienced player, after guiding his team Nsambya Sports Club to a 1-1 draw with Kisugu United, leaving both teams with hope chase promotion to the FUFA Big League, he revealed why he decided to feature for Nsambya SC.
“When I was still playing at the top level, I suffered a serious injury, and during my rehabilitation, I decided to join my home team Nsambya,” he said.
“Remember, I was raised in the areas of Lukuli, Katwe, and Nsambya, and I had already played for Lukuli during my heyday and had a time to play for Katwe United, so I decided to also serve Nsambya SC as the only club I had never served in the areas where I grew up,” he added.
At club level, after starting his career at Lukuli, he went on to feature for clubs like Express FC on four stints, Bunamwaya (later Vipers SC), KCCA FC, and also went abroad to feature for Brabrand IF in Denmark and Nkana FC in Zambia at his peak.
At Nsambya SC, he rediscovered his scoring touch, standing up to deliver deciding goals for the team, especially since the departure of Michael Birungi at the beginning of this season.
