Futsal Super League Defending champions Mengo City continued in fine form with a thrilling 3-2 win overcoming possible competitors Mbarara QC at the Old Kampala Arena on Friday evening.

Mengo City had a perfect first half, netting three beautiful goals with Farouk Tumwesigye setting up goals for Billy Nkata, Anthony Male, and John Musasizi.

After leading at halftime break 3-0, in the second half, Mbarara QC Coach Martin Mpuuga rotated to Eria Kabagambe, who turned the game as a pivot for Mbarara.

Later, new signing Shafic Mulangigira pulled a goal back to make it 3-1 before a further introduction of Franklin Tamale, who scored a second goal for Mbarara.

At 3-2, Tumwesigye missed two chances to extend the lead for Mengo City, and on the opposite side was Mengo City Goalkeeper Stuart Kafuluma, who denied Kabagambe and John Abigaba from levelling the matter.

Defending the title, Mengo City is now two wins in two games so far in the 2025-2026 season after beating Contenders Mbarara QC 3-2 and Newcomer Entebbe Cheaters 10-1.

Elsewhere, Lamansia defeated Entebbe Cheaters 10-8 with the goals coming in the last 30 minutes of the game.

The other game between Old Kampala FC and UG Kop was postponed.

Meanwhile, in the Women’s League, Kisenyi FC fought from two goals down to win 4-2 over Kabowa Dream Team Women’s, thanks to Desire Nankinga, who stepped up with a hat-trick to deny Kabowa, who led 2-0 at halftime.

In other games, Lubiri Falcons overcame Lubaga Grameen with a 5-4 win. In the early kickoff, Nansana Aska held Edgars Youth Programme 2-2.

Both leagues will resume on Friday, November 14th, 2025.
