2025/26 Futsal Super League

  • Mengo City 4-1 Kisenyi FC

Young Star Farouk Tumwesigye continues to shine with a brace, which would have been a hat-trick, as Mengo City beat Kisenyi FC to take their winless streak to three games.

The game, which was among five displays at Old Kampala Futsal Arena on Friday, November 21, saw Mengo City get their first goal at the 10th minute when Tumwesigye slid into the goal with the ball, with Abdul Waleed Bashir also on the ground colliding to stop the ball from entering.

The goal was recorded as an own goal. Three minutes later, Tumwesigye scored a stunner as he rolled past three players and surprisingly smashed the ball into the net, winning the first half 2-0.

After the second goal, last season’s star for the team, Samuel Omara, was rotated in for the first time this season as they continued to turn into a different team with him.

Midway through the second half, Tumwesigye extended the lead to 3-0 when he easily flicked the ball through Kisenyi FC’s goalkeeper’s legs.

Six minutes towards the end of the game, Mengo City’s last season top scorer, AbdulKareem Tebera, finally scored his first of the season.

Later, in the final minute of the game, new signing Muhammad Ali, who is hoped to fill Ilyas Omran’s left void, found a consolation for Kisenyi FC.

In the end, Mengo City recorded their third straight win, going to the top of the table with 9 points, while Tumwesigye rose to the top of the scoring chart on 6 goals, tied with Lamansia’s Ibrahim Mayanja.

Meanwhile, Kisenyi FC, following their losses to Mbarara QC 3-1, 3-2 to Kabowa Dream Team, and 4-1 to Mengo City, remains the only pointless team at the bottom.

In other games, Mbarara QC outclassed Lamansia 6-0 with six different scorers. Roben Owen Othieno, Eria Kabagambe, Shafic Mulangigira, Umar Niyonshima, Vincent Abigaba, and Daniel Egeru Ebedu all scored at least a goal each.

In the Women’s Super League, Nansana Aska won their first game of the season 3-1 over winless Kabowa Dream Team.

Old Kampala FC struggled to beat Lubaga Grameen 1-0, and in the early kickoff, Lubiri Falcons were held by Edgars Youth Programme 2-2.
