The Federation of Uganda Football Association has appointed the interim technical team for the Uganda Senior Women’s National football team the Crested Cranes.
The team will be headed by coach Ayiekoh Charles Lukula, assisted by Eric Ndifuna and Olive Mbekeka.
Last season, Coach Ayieko Lukula was the head coach for Tanzania’s giants Simba Queens FC before he left the role at the end of the season.
He also helped She Corporate FC to finish second in the 2022 CAF Women’s Champions League Zonal Qualifiers that was held in Tanzania.
The other members of the technical team are; Stephen Kigundu (Goalkeeping), Felix Ayobo (Fitness Trainer), Mable Kabatalindwa (Doctor) and Darlian Kyasiimire (Physiotherapist).
Crested Cranes last had a permanent coach in 2022, when George Lutalo guided the team to its maiden CECAFA Senior Women’s Championship before he was fired after a poor performance in the 2022 WAFCON that was in Morocco.
Crested Cranes will face Cameroon this month in the 2024 Paris Olympics qualifiers and the appointed technical team will summon the players to enter the camp this week.
The team have been under Ayub Khalifah who was an assistant coach without a head coach and he’s the one who was in charge as Uganda ejected Rwanda to reach this stage.
