The Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) has finally filled the position of Football Development Director with Bashir Mutyaba, who has been in charge of youth football at the Federation as a member of the FUFA Development Department.
Mutyaba is replacing Ali Mwebe, whose departure for greener pastures was announced by the FUFA President, Engineer Moses Magogo, during the 101st FUFA Assembly in Hoima.
Magogo stated; “As Uganda continues to grow both on and off the pitch, Ugandans are also growing significantly. We are no longer with Ali Mwebe because FIFA took him from us. He was appointed as the Regional Technical Consultant.”
Mwebe served for over seven years since his appointment, progressing from Competitions Director to Football Development Director at FUFA in early 2018.
Mwebe’s replacement was announced on July 30 and will start his services on August 1, 2024, with the task of adopting the ongoing FUFA, CAF, and FIFA programmes.
