The 2025/26 FUFA Beach Soccer League got off to the mark with defending champions Kampala City and big contestant MUBs registering big wins despite other fixtures failing to be honored.
At Bamboo Gardens Beach Soccer Arena in Kasenje, Kampala City tormented Buganda Royal 7-2, while MUBs also hammered returning Muteesa 1 Royal University in their first league appearance in 8 years.
Playing in the opening match, Paul Kato, Ambrose Kigozi, and Paul Lule all bagged braces, with Marvin Mwasu sealing the score.
In response, Buganda Royal Institute Beach Soccer Club scored through James Namuyimbwa and Joseph Ssendi, but it was too little for the Kakeeka-based side.
In the other game, Brian Katete scored twice as Thomas Lasu, Roymond Watakira, Stuart Magumba, Malik Bingane, and Kevin Sanyu all scored once, while Denis Reagan with a brace, and Mathias Mukisa scored for Muteesa in reply.
Meanwhile, the Mutoola Beach Soccer Club and St Lawrence University game got postponed as Grace Church failed to show up to give Mengo Hill free points, setting more inconveniences as the other two teams failed to pass licensing standards.
