By the close of eight fixtures that produced 15 goals, Blacks Power were back on top after a crucial home win, while Kigezi Home Boyz slipped at a decisive moment in the promotion chase.

At Ebenezar University playground in Lira City, Blacks Power edged Wakiso Giants 2-1 to reclaim top spot.

Emmanuel Janan Okech gave them the lead in the first half before Innocent Maduka added the second after the break, sealing a vital win for Michael Skillz Lukyamuzi’s side.

The result lifted Blacks Power to 42 points, level with Kigezi Home Boyz but ahead on standings.

For Kigezi Home Boyz, it was a painful setback. They fell 1-0 away to Young Elephants Academy in Nwoya, a result that allowed their rivals to draw level on points and shift momentum in the race for promotion.

Elsewhere, Bunyaruguru United produced one of the standout performances of the weekend, sweeping past Nebbi Central 3-0 away in Nebbi to climb to sixth place and boost their push up the table.

In Arua, Onduparaka continued their steady run with a narrow 1-0 win over Soltilo Bright Stars at Green Light Stadium. Iganga United also picked up a 1-0 home win against Kiyinda Boys, while Mbale Heroes edged Kaaro Karungi by the same scoreline in Mbale.

On Saturday, CATDA beat Ntugasaze 2-1 in Kampala, while earlier in the week Onduparaka and Bunyaruguru United shared a 1-1 draw in Arua.

With four matches left, the race remains wide open. Only four teams will earn promotion to the top flight, while four will drop to regional football.
