Kataka FC kept their strong home form alive with a convincing 4–1 win over Wakiso Giants on Sunday at Mbale City Stadium.

The hosts were sharp from the start, securing their fifth home victory in six games and pulling level on 16 points with second placed Kigezi HomeBoyz.

Isaac Owiny set the tone in the 10th minute with a curling free kick after Samson Kasozi handled the ball at the edge of the box.

Wakiso Giants briefly pulled level through Umar Kayemba in the 25th minute, but Kataka quickly regained control. Ali Ssentamu restored the lead five minutes later, sending Kataka into the break ahead.

The second half belonged to Michael Olinga. He stretched the lead in the 53rd minute before completing his brace in the 83rd, sealing a dominant performance.

The Purple Sharks, sitting fourth on 15 points, struggled to cope with Kataka’s relentless energy.

In Lira, table leaders Blacks Power maintained their momentum with a comfortable 3–1 win over Kiyinda Boys at Ebenezer University Ground.

Paul Oonyu added a third soon after the break. Jimmy Ndalambi converted a penalty for Kiyinda Boys in the 58th, but the leaders never looked threatened.

The result marked Blacks Power’s sixth home win, moving them to 22 points, six ahead of Kigezi HomeBoyz, who slipped to a 2–1 defeat against Iganga United in the day’s big upset.

Elsewhere on Sunday, Onduparaka beat Nebbi Central 3–1, Paidha Black Angels edged Bunyaruguru 2–1, and Young Elephant drew 1–1 with Bright Stars. Iganga United’s win over Kigezi provided the biggest shake-up of the day.

Saturday’s only match saw CATDA outlast Kaaro Karungi 3–2, while Thursday produced two contrasting results, Kigezi HomeBoyz hammered Mbale Heroes 4–0, and Ntugasaze held on for a narrow 1–0 victory over Iganga United.
