FUFA Big League side Kaaro Karungi pulled off a stunning 3-0 victory over Uganda Premier League outfit UPDF FC in the Stanbic Uganda Cup Round of 16 at Kyamate Ground, Ntungamo.
The win secured their spot in the quarterfinals, making them one of the first two Big League teams to advance.

Gideon Onyango extended the lead in the 58th minute, before Clinton Kamugisha sealed the victory in the 79th minute, capitalizing on a goalkeeping error.
This win continues Kaaro Karungi’s impressive run, marking their third consecutive victory across all competitions, all while maintaining clean sheets.
Despite their cup success, they are still battling relegation in the league, sitting just four points above the drop zone with a game in hand.
Joining Kaaro Karungi in the quarterfinals is Kataka FC, another FUFA Big League team, who knocked out Uganda Premier League side URA FC 5-3 on penalties after a 1-1 draw in Nakivubo.
Other confirmed quarterfinalists include BUL FC, Kitara FC, SC Villa, Police FC, and KCCA FC. The final spot will be determined in the clash between Vipers and Blacks Power.
The 51st edition of the Stanbic Uganda Cup, co-sponsored by Plascon Uganda, is not just a fight for silverware but also serves as a platform for young players to showcase their skills.
