The 2025/26 FUFA Big League served up another weekend of thrilling action on Match Day 5, with Wakiso Giants, Kaaro Karungi, and Kataka among the standout winners.
At the newly refurbished Hamz Stadium in Kampala, Wakiso Giants delighted their fans with a dominant 4–2 victory over Nebbi Central.
Annest Ankunda led the way with a brace, while Bashir Mutanda and Issa Bugembe added a goal each to seal Wakiso’s third win of the season.
Nebbi Central tried to fight back through brothers Samuel and William Muguromo, but the hosts’ attacking firepower proved too much.
The result lifted Wakiso to 10 points, just one behind league leaders Blacks Power.
In Ntungamo, Kaaro Karungi finally picked up their first win of the season, brushing aside Onduparaka 3–0 at Kyamate Stadium.
Walter Lubangakene netted twice, and Ronald Turysima added a third in a performance that reignited their campaign.
Over in Mbale, the local derby lived up to the hype as Kataka edged rivals Mbale Heroes 1–0, thanks to a first-half strike from Marcus Akii that sent home fans into celebration.
Elsewhere, Soltilo Bright Stars maintained their fine form with a 1–0 away win over Kiyinda Boys, while Ntugasaze and Young Elephants drew 1–1.
Three games ended goalless: Bunyaruguru United vs Kigezi Home Boyz, Iganga United vs Paidha Black Angels, and CATDA vs Blacks Power.
With three promotion slots to the 2026 Uganda Premier League on the line, the race is heating up early as contenders start to emerge.
