FUFA Disciplinary Panel has issued two important rulings involving Kitara FC in the Uganda Premier League , clearing the club in one case and awarding them a forfeited win in another.
The panel sat at FUFA House in Mengo on February 12, 2026, to handle matters arising from earlier fixtures in the 2025/26 Uganda Premier League season.
Kitara cleared over ineligible Player claim
The first case followed a petition by KCCA FC after their September 26, 2025 match against Kitara. KCCA had alleged that Kitara fielded an ineligible player.
After reviewing the case, the panel ruled that Kitara did not field an ineligible player. It also noted that it would be unfair to punish a club for a technical error beyond its control.
As a result, the outcome of the match stands and the points earned on the pitch remain unchanged, a decision that brings relief to Kitara and closes the matter for both sides.
Vipers forfeit over failure to honour fixture
In a separate ruling, the panel found Vipers SC guilty of failing to honour their October 4, 2025 fixture against Kitara at Mandela National Stadium.
Vipers were deemed to have breached Article 16 of the FUFA Ethics and Disciplinary Code. The match has therefore been awarded to Kitara by forfeiture.
However, while forfeiture is a serious sanction, the panel chose not to impose additional punishment.
Under Article 5 of the same code, it opted against docking Vipers a further three points and three goals beyond those already affected by the forfeiture.
The panel confirmed that no further sanctions will be applied and described its ruling as final.
Vipers are currently top of the Uganda Premier League with 36 points while Kitara FC lay 5th with 29 points.
