The Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) has confirmed fixtures for the 2025 FUFA Super 8 tournament, which kicks off on August 27 as the curtain-raiser for the new Uganda Premier League (UPL) season.
The annual competition brings together the top eight teams from last season and promises thrilling action from the start.
Opening matches at Lugogo
The tournament begins with a doubleheader at MTN Omondi Stadium. URA FC will face Kitara FC at 4:00 PM, before a blockbuster clash between KCCA FC and SC Villa at 7:00 PM.
On August 28, action moves to Nakivubo Stadium, where NEC FC meets Express FC at 4:00 PM, followed by defending champions BUL FC taking on Maroons FC at 7:00 PM. All ties will be played over two legs.
Road to the final
The BUL vs Maroons winner will face either KCCA or SC Villa in the semifinals, while the URA vs Kitara victor will meet the winner between NEC and Express.
Vipers out, Express in
Last season’s UPL champions, Vipers SC, have withdrawn to focus on the CAF Champions League, where they face Namibia’s African Stars. Their place goes to Express FC, who finished ninth last season.
BUL target Back-to-Back glory
Defending champions BUL FC, who stunned Vipers SC to claim the 2024 title, are eyeing consecutive crowns in what promises to be a fiercely contested edition.
