BUL FC became the first team to book a spot in the FUFA Super 8 semifinals after defeating Maroons FC 3-1 in the second leg at Nakivubo Stadium on Tuesday.

The defending champions, known as the Eastern Giants, advanced after a goalless first leg and delivered a solid performance to outplay the Prison Warders.

Left-back Thomas Ochungo opened the scoring in the 12th minute with a header from Ibrahim Orit’s corner.

Maroons equalized early in the second half when Apollo Kagogwe’s cross sneaked past goalkeeper Farouk Yawe.

BUL quickly responded, with Isaac Wagoina converting a 70th-minute penalty before Jerome Kirya sealed the win five minutes later.

BUL will face the winner between KCCA FC and SC Villa in the semifinals. Villa currently lead 2-1 ahead of Friday’s return leg at FUFA Kadiba Stadium.
