SC Villa reached the 2025 FUFA Super 8 final with a tense 5–4 penalty shootout victory over defending champions BUL FC at Phillip Omondi Stadium on Sunday. The Jogoos will face NEC FC in Wednesday’s title clash at FUFA Kadiba Stadium.
BUL struck first in the fourth minute when Villa defender Arnold Odong accidentally turned Hillary Onek’s cross into his own net.
Villa pressed for an equalizer and were finally rewarded in the 75th minute when Najib Yiga’s free kick deflected off Sowedi Luwenda and wrong-footed goalkeeper Farouk Yawe.
With the match tied 1–1 after 90 minutes, it came down to penalties. Goalkeeper David Lukwago was the hero, saving from Ibrahim Mugulusi and Bakali Magunda. Frank Mulimi missed for Villa, but his teammates held firm to seal the 5–4 win.
Villa now eyes a first Super 8 crown, while BUL will meet URA FC in Wednesday’s third-place playoff.
