FUFA has suspended several match officials following controversial incidents in recent Uganda Premier League matches, including Saturday’s Kampala derby between SC Villa and Express FC.
Assistant referee Immaculate Ongiera was suspended after disallowing Hassan Mubiru’s goal for offside during the derby.
Mubiru had received a pass from Aslam Semakula before beating Express goalkeeper Khassim Hafizi, but the effort was ruled out.
Television replays later showed Mubiru was onside when the pass was played. Ongiera has since been suspended from future appointments pending a disciplinary hearing.
FUFA also sanctioned officials from the Uganda Premier League match between Buhimba United Saints and Police FC played on 17 February 2026.
The officials were faulted for allowing Buhimba’s Eric Nyonyintono to enter the field wearing a jersey different from that of his teammates.
Those suspended include referee Musisi Henry, assistant referees Mbabali Samuel and Kinyera Fred, fourth official John Semakula, match assessor Hillary Kimbugwe and general coordinator Christopher Kugonza.
FUFA said the officials will remain suspended pending disciplinary hearings.
