The second edition of the FUFA TV Cup is rapidly approaching its climax, with only eight schools remaining from an initial field of 65. After four rounds of intense home-and-away knockout matches, Mengo SS, Jinja SS, and Nabumali have emerged as strong contenders for the coveted title.
Mengo SS secured their place in the final eight by overcoming Kibuli SS with a 2-2 aggregate victory. Despite losing the first leg 1-0, Mengo SS rallied to win the return leg 2-1, advancing due to the away goal rule.
Jinja SS enjoyed a successful derby against Jinja College, winning 5-2 on aggregate. Nabumali High School also impressed, defeating Sebei High Tigers 5-1.
Other notable results from the last 16 include St Charles Lwanga Koboko’s 2-1 win over Mandela SS, Gombe SS’s 2-1 victory against Namilyango College, and Lango College’s 2-1 defeat of St Joseph’s College Layib.
