The FUFA Tv Cup semifinals climaxed on Friday 30th June 2023, as St Marys College Kisubi and Kiira College Butiki edged opponents to reach the Final.
Jinja College School 0-2 St. Mary’s College Kisubi (Aggregate 1-4)
St Mary’s College Kisubi edged Jinja College School 2-0 away to advance to the final.
Goals from Benjamin Mukisa and Paul Colvis in each half, gave the visitors a deserved 2-0 win.
Griffin Mwesigwa and Mahad Mubiru scored for St. Mary’s College Kisubu in their first leg 2-1 win as Junior Kyosi netted the only goal for Jinja College School.
St Mary’s Kisubi continued with the excellent form, winning all their games and conceding only one goal.
Mengo Senior School 1-3 Kiira College Butiki (Aggregate 4-8)
Kiira College Butiki defeated Mengo Senior School 3-1 in front of their home fans to advance to the final on 8-4 aggregate.
Goal poacher John Ssenfuma put Mengo in the lead in just 9 minutes to give his side hopes to overturn the first leg result.
Ten minutes later, Gift Fred Mutalya levelled the matters and in 32nd minutes scored the second to put his side in the lead before the end of the first half.
Augustine Okwang put the last nail in the coffin scoring the third goal for the visitors with only two minutes to the end of the game.
The result handed Mengo their first home loss and also ejecting them in the tournament.
Gift Fred Mutalya who scored 6 goals in both legs against Mengo Senior School, extended his tally to 7, making him the tournament’s top scorer.
St. Mary’s College Kisubi and Kiira College Butiki will face in the the inaugural FUFA TV Cup Final on Friday 7th July 2023 at 12pm at MTN Omondi Stadium, Lugogo.
