In a stirring stature to the rise of women’s football in Uganda, the Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) has officially unveiled a new trophy for the FUFA Women Super League, a stunning, gold-accented masterpiece poised to become the league’s most coveted prize.
Standing 455 millimetres tall, the newly revealed trophy is more than just a gleaming accolade; it is a work of art, a bold symbol of power, grace, and ambition that mirrors the relentless spirit of Uganda’s top women footballers.
At its core is a striking figurine of a woman, captured mid-celebration, lifting a ball triumphantly above her head. Her strong, forward-leaning posture and gracefully curved frame represent a perfect fusion of athletic strength and feminine poise.
The ball she holds, a radiant golden sphere emerges from an intricately crafted base, symbolizing the raw talent and determination that continues to rise from grassroots to greatness within the league.
The entire figure rests atop five symbolic stepped tiers, rising from a solid, two-tiered pedestal inscribed boldly with “FUFA Women Super League,” anchoring the trophy firmly in its identity and mission.
A flowing golden scarf spirals elegantly around the structure, visually uniting the base and figure, a poetic nod to the unity, individuality, and dynamic motion of the athletes it represents.
“This trophy celebrates the spirit and brilliance of women in football,” FUFA said in a statement.
“By raising this emblem of achievement, we reaffirm our commitment to growing the women’s game in Uganda. The FUFA Women Super League Gold Trophy will stand as a beacon of aspiration for generations to come.”
The unveiling comes at a momentous time, as Kampala Queens FC stands just one match away from securing the 2024/25 championship title and with it, the honor of being the first club to lift this historic new trophy.
