The highly anticipated draws for the 2024 FUFA Women’s Cup took place this morning at FUFA Complex in Mengo. The prestigious tournament, now in its fifth edition, will see teams battle it out from the round of 32 all the way to the finals.
Familiar Faces, New Battles
Last year’s champions, Uganda Martyrs Lubaga Women Football Club, will travel to face Entebbe Pride in the opening round.
Meanwhile, last year’s finalists She Maroons will take on Golden Impact. The reigning Super League champions, Kampala Queens, will visit FUFA Women Elite League’s Dynamic Jjeza.
Interestingly, all FUFA Women’s Super League clubs will be away teams in the round of 32, setting the stage for exciting early matchups.
Road to the Championship
The round of 32 matches will be played on March 16th and 17th, 2024.
The inaugural championship was won by Olila HS WFC in 2017. UCU Lady Cardinals (2018), She Makerere FC (2019), and Uganda Martyrs Lubaga WFC (2023) are the other previous winners.
