Kawempe Muslim will be welcoming Uganda Martyrs in the second leg of the semifinals in Kawempe tomorrow morning.
In the first leg, Martyrs defeated Kawempe 1-0 to earn a first-leg advantage thanks to Viola Namuddu’s header.
On Sunday, Kawempe will do all they can to defeat and outscore Martyrs to stand a chance and progress to the finals.
This will be the third time Martyrs is visiting Kawempe in the past two years and the visitors have won once and drawn once.
The last time Kawempe hosted Martyrs, it was in the FUFA Women’s Super League and the Valley Warriors lost 3-1 at home.
Kawempe assistant coach Moses Nkata is optimistic that her girls will progress to the finals if they stick to the game plan.
“We lost but it wasn’t a big margin. We have worked very hard to perfect our game plan and we expect to progress.”
In the other corner, Martyr’s head coach Edward Kasozi Ssozi expects a tough encounter.
“We have the advantage but am pretty sure that the girls are focused on winning the second leg.”
Our plan is not to concede tomorrow but we have to score more than two goals to progress,” he added.
Martyrs will miss Esther Namusoke and Prossy Nakandi who also missed the first leg due to injuries.
The Valley Warriors will miss Docus Kisakye but, defender Aisha Nantongo will have to pass the late fitness test.
In the other semifinal, Asubo Gafford Ladies will welcome She Maroons at Kampala Quality at 10 am still, on Sunday.
In the first leg, She Maroons defeated Asubo Gafford 2-0 in Luzira thanks to Anita Babirye and Millicent Namwembe’s goals.
The team to progress to the final will travel to Kumi district in a quest for the FUFA Women’s Cup this year.
