Uganda Martyrs and She Maroons have today ejected their opponents to reach this year’s FUFA Women’s Cup final.

She Maroons edged Asubo Gafford 3-2 while Uganda Martyrs eliminated Kawempe Muslim 1-0 both on aggregates.

In the first leg Uganda Martyrs defeated Kawempe Muslim 1-0 in Lubaga courtesy of Viola Namuddu’s first-half header.

In the return leg today morning, Kawempe wasted clear chances through Allen Nasazi and Hadijah Nandago.

Martyrs stuck on their game plan of not conceding and they successfully held Kawempe Muslim to a goalless draw.

The second semifinal saw Asubo Gafford beating She Maroons 2-1 at home but the scoreline wasn’t enough for the home team.

Gafford’s defender Adrien Musimenta brought down Anita Babirye in the box and the referee awarded the penalty to the visitors.

Lillian Kasubo stepped up and calmly converted to give Maroons a priceless away goal and the lead.

Six minutes later, Zaitun Namaganda equalized with a half volley to lift the hopes of the home fans at Kampala Quality pitch.

Before the end of the first half, unmarked Kamiyat Naigaga received a good ball inside the box and made no mistake giving the hosts the lead.

Gafford had several chances but their efforts towards the goal were not good enough hence the game ending 2-1.

Maroons, who had earlier defeated Gafford 2-0 in the first leg reached their maiden final thanks to a 3-2 aggregate score.

A new champion will be crowned when the two victors face off in the final to be played on 10th June at Bishop Maraka College in Kumi district.
