Mengo City and Crown Lubiri shall take the last dance of the 2024-25 Futsal Super League first round.
The two sides are among the most exciting teams this season with Mengo City knotting 8 consecutive wins after overcoming a hard start to the season.
The form under Somali Coach Abdulahi Al Fata improved the team to second position on the log as they sit two points behind leader Park FC who have tallied 27 points.
Mengo City’s form is highly boosted by the form of players like Farouk Tumwesigye who commands 13 goals from 10 games and Sharif Opuuli who plays a dominant role. Mengo City is playing collectively to become the highest-scoring side.
Defensive-wise, the Stomers have so far kept 4 clean sheets this season and all came in the last five games where they have scored over 40 goals.
For a team that started the season by losing to Nansana Aska and drawing with Kabowa Dream Team, it has a positive turnaround.
On the other side, AbdulRazak Najib-coached Crown Lubiri goes into the game to hunt for a way to stop the bad fortunes faced in the last two games where they lost their unbeaten run with a loss to Park FC before being shocked by QC Mbarara last week.
The two hard knocks have led Crown to degrade on the log to third place with 22 points following the misfiring form of their best players Muhammad Muhamoud and Bakar Kulane.
The game on Friday, 17 January 2025 shall follow other five games which will all take place at Old Kampala Futsal Arena starting with Kisenyi FC taking on Edgar’s Youth Programme at 1600hrs.
