Park FC thrashed Lubaga Grameen 9-1ย in the Futsal Super League game played on Friday, March 21 at the Old Kampala Futsal Arena.
The game, which came fourth on the menu, was more than itching for Lubaga Grameen, who had beaten Park FC in the first leg 5-3, with the ball getting into their net easily, even players not used to scoring on the scoresheet.
Young defender Hamza Ntangujira and fellow defender John Kitanda are the perfect mentions on the scoresheet, with the two netting a goal each.ย
Park FC started the game with good care, finding the right control and turning to score in the 8th minute with two goals from Michael Abura and Jalil Zimula with Alfredo Ssebunya adding on a third goal for the defending champion.
Joshua Aziku,ย Captain Shafic Mulangira and Kitanda all added a goal for Park FC to lead 6-0 at halftime.ย
Returning for the second half, Andrew Kayanga pulled one for Lubaga Grameen but Park FC just made the matter much serious as Zimula and Ssebunya reappeared on the scoresheet before Ntangujira sealed the day.ย ย
The action extended with Edgar’s Youth Programme showcasing resilience and fighting spirit from two goals down to edge Crown Lubiri 4-3 as they continue rising to become 9th on the table, passing Lubaga Grameen.
Crown Lubiri started strong, with Abdulhamid Ahmed netting twice, pushing the side which lost the 8 opening games 2-0 down, but Charles Okello came on to spring the comeback, pulling one goal.ย
Crown captain Abdinasir Ahmen Omar restored Crownโs two-goal advantage before halftime. However, Mustafa Ssemakula struck just before the break to make it 3-2, keeping Edgar’s within reach of the game.ย
ย Andrew Mwebase equalized soon after the restart and later when time was running out, just 3 minutes counting on the clock, Ssemakula netted his second of the game which became a match winner to take Edgar’s to 15 points all from their last seven games.ย
The day was rounded up with onfire Mengo City keeping a strong foot on league leader Park FC as they once again returned a big scoreline, recording an 8-3 win over Kisugu FC to take their unbeaten run to 14 games.
On the day, young star Ian Tugume was the player at his best, netting his second hat trick of the season while other star players like Sharif Opuuli, Samuel Omara, and Anthony Male all were on the scoresheet.ย
Remarkably, Nansana Aska was the most joyous side on the day after team captain Swaibu Kazibwe led by example to notch in a stoppage time winner over Kisenyi FC in a game that ended 6-5.
In another game, Kabuusu Clouds managed to escape from QC Mbarara by far winning 9-5. Clouds started well by leading 3-0 but QC Mbarara returned to level 3-3 at some point of the game before Gadaffi Bazanyanengo took charge of the game by netting 5 times as he opened and returned to net the 5th to the 9th goals of the game
The Futsal Super League shall return to action on Friday, 28th March 2025 at Old Kampala Futsal Arena, with Kabowa Dream Team expecting to return to action after missing this week by getting a walkover from Busunju Spaks.
