It’s a historic day for Ugandan Futsal as FC Luzira and Park FC lock horns in the highly anticipated final of the Futsal Uganda Cup at the Old Kampala Futsal Arena.
Both sides are vying for their first-ever championship title, setting the stage for a thrilling and unpredictable encounter.
Experience vs. Momentum
While Park FC boasts more experience, having competed in the league for longer and claiming the 2021 title, FC Luzira carries the momentum after a convincing 4-1 victory over Pitch Pirates in the semifinals.
Park’s journey was more dramatic, edging out Kisenyi FC 5-3 on penalties following a 4-4 draw.
This season’s 4-1 victory over Luzira in the BetPawa Futsal Super League gives Park an edge, but Luzira is hungry for revenge and determined to write history.
Key Players to Watch
All eyes will be on Luzira’s Joel Ogwang, the tournament’s leading scorer with a staggering 12 goals in just four games.
He faces stiff competition from Park’s Abasi Muluya, who has netted 10 goals in five matches. Both players are crucial for their respective teams’ hopes of lifting the trophy.
What the coaches said
Despite the pressure, both head coaches remain optimistic. Park’s Alex Segawa emphasizes composure and determination: “We’ll play our hearts out and hope to win with God on our side.”
FC Luzira’s Samuel Tusingwire expresses confidence in his team’s preparation: “We feel prepared enough, and the boys will give 100% to try and win.”
