Following the opening of the Futsal Uganda Cup for both Men’s and Women’s, which saw teams qualifying for quarterfinals last Friday, the tournament continues today, Friday, February 13, at Old Kampala Arena.

The schedule is set to get underway at 17:00 hours, with Edgar’s Youth Program playing from the host side against Kisenyi FC in the women’s cup.

As both teams prepare for the tournament’s debut, it has been a while since they were last in action, on December 5 last year when they were playing in the league.

By then, their form keeps running them in 5th and 6th, with Kisenyi FC remaining 1 point above Edgar’s, having beaten Kabowa Dream Team 4-2 and Nansana Aska 1-0 while losing to Mengo City 4-1.

Edgar’s has also played three times this inaugural futsal season for women’s, and they have won once, 5-0 over Old Kampala FC in the last outing; before that big win, they drew 2-2 against Nansana Aska and Lubiri Falcons.

The other fixture, Mbarara QC, will take on Kabowa Dream Team at 18:00 hours before switching to the men’s Cup, where the team with the most fans, Mengo City, will entertain Nansana Aska, kicking off at 19:00 to feel the sparks of the Arena.

Mengo City will seek to continue their entertaining style under the league’s best coach, Abdullahi Abdifata, who is managing the big pull of players led by captain Anthony Male, star player Farouk Tumwesigye, and the likes of Billy Nkata, Sam O’Mara, and others.

Nansana Aska shall look at the challenge from the bottom, but they are hoping to rely more on Muhammad Duale, highly talented Perez Kamuhebwa, experienced Hussein Zakaria Dahir, and Haggai Bahikire Blick while Perfect Muzusangabo will be another player to watch for Aska.

Winners from this evening’s games will progress to quarterfinals joining Mengo City in the Women’s cup while in the Men’s cup, they will join Edgar’s and Kabowa Dream Team.
