- Edgars Youth Programme 11-5 Rice Grameen
With the Futsal Uganda Cup still underway, Edgars Youth Programme defeated Lubaga Grameen on Friday evening, February 20 at the Old Kampala Arena.
Edgars opened the scoring through Derrick Male, but Grameen connected through Captain Bruno Ssegirinya and then took the lead with a goal from Imran Sseguya at the end of the first half.
From the second half restart, Grameen continued to dominate the game, and Junior Niwamanya scored to make it 3-1.
With Grameen still struggling, Edgar’s coach Adam Masembe introduced Isac Openyo, who immediately changed the game.
Edgar’s captain Alfred Feni Garanga later scored with the help of Male, while Openyo equalized early in the second half. Edgar continued to stir the game with Garanga scoring four more goals to take his tally to five last night.
Andrew Mwebesa, Isac Openyo, and Hamza Ntangujira also added goals for Edgar’s, making it 11, while Niwamanya and Sseguya also added for Grameen, despite it being impossible to win the game.
In other matches, Mbarara QC also defeated Kabowa Dream Team 4-2. Gilbran Nduhukire scored three goals, while Shafic Mulangira and Umar Niyonshima also added goals, while Carlos Kaddu and Victor Kazibwe scored for Kabowa.

In the Uganda Cup Women’s Cup, Mengo City defeated Lubaga Grameen 5-0, and Nansana Aska beat Lubiri Falcons 1-0.
Now the progressed teams, including the men’s and women’s teams, are waiting for the games next Friday to find out who they will play in the Semifinals.
