Over four months since the conclusion of the previous round, the Futsal Uganda Cup knockout competition returns to action.
The quarterfinals, featuring four games on Friday, February 28th, 2025, evening, will take place at Old Kampala Futsal Arena between 6 pm and 10 pm.
Kabuusu Clouds and Motion Sports will open the day’s matches, followed by defending champions Park FC facing First Touch at 7 pm.
The third clash will be between Fiyore FC and Kisenyi FC at 8 pm, culminating in the day’s biggest game: Crown Lubiri versus Mengo City, a team in top form.
In the Round of 16, Motion Sports defeated Entebbe Cheaters 8-2, and Kabuusu Clouds overcame Busunju SP 7-1.
At the same stage, Park FC defeated Edgar’s Youth Programme 5-2, and their opponent, First Touch, beat Kisugu FC 4-2.
In the other quarterfinals, Kisenyi FC advanced by defeating Nansana Aska Academy 9-0, while Fiyore FC also faced minimal challenge from Lubaga Grameen Youth, winning 8-3.
Also in the Round of 16, Mengo City defeated Lubaga Grameen 3-0, and Crown Lubiri eliminated Nansana Aska with a convincing 8-3.
Key Players from Previous Uganda Cup Outings
Motion Sports was led by Marvin Ssenyonjo, who scored a double brace, while Nasser Mwebe also scored a brace.
Kabuusu Clouds’ Najib Muwonge’s hat trick led the way, along with goals from Tonny Ssemwogerere, Gadafi Bazanyanengo, and Julius Ssenoga.
Park FC was inspired by captain Shafick Mulangira with a brace, joined by young star Frank Nsereko and Abasi Muluya, who are not expected to participate in the quarterfinals.
Opuuli Sharif, John Musasizi, and Ian Tugume were the players who inspired Mengo City in the previous round, and except for Musasizi, the other two continued to excel.
Abdiwali Ali scored four goals for Fiyore FC, while Abdihamid Ahmed, Abdiwali Halane, and Awale Abshir added the other goals.
Ilyas Omran, who netted three times, and Waleed Bashir were the players who guided Kisenyi FC to the quarterfinals.
For Crown Lubiri, Ahmed Abdulkadir Hassan led the scoring with a hat trick, Ibrahim Abdi Omar scored twice, and Abdihamid Dahir Ahmed and Abukar Yusuf Kulane also contributed.
