The 2023/24 FUFA Women Elite League first round concluded in thrilling fashion, with She Corporate FC maintaining their perfect record and Olila HS WFC suffering their first defeat.

She Corporate Dominates

Unbeaten She Corporate maintained their impressive form, crushing Tagy H/S Ladies 5-0 away. Jesca Namanda bagged a hat-trick, while Yaseem Nalukwago and Apon Faith Sharon contributed one each.

The Sharks remain atop the Elizabeth group with a perfect six wins from six.

Olila HS WFC Toppled

Byafaayo Queens handed Victoria group leaders Olila H/S WFC their first loss of the season after a slim 1-0 win, thanks to Opisa shaylne‘s lone strike, the first conceded by Olila in the entire first round.

This was the second consecutive win for Byafaayo Queens and they’re now in the second place two points adrift the table leaders.

Goldstar No-Show and Other Highlights:

She Geme FC received a walkover win and three points after Goldstar Ladies failed to show up for the fixture.

FC Tooro Queens closed the gap on She Corporate with a 4-1 victory over Dynamic Jjeza SS. Sharon Kanyiginya scored a brace while Winnie Kabugho and Ruth Nyakato added a goal each to help the team get a massive win.

Gyco Girls powered to their second win, thrashing Ehcos SS WFC 5-1 at home. Agenorwot Tereza’s hat-trick and Juliet Achan’s brace propelled Gyco to third in the Victoria group.

On Monday She Geme FC continued their impressive run, narrowly beating Dynamic Jjeza SS 2-0 at home. Patricia Atulinda and Janet Kabugoh’s goals secured the win and propelled She Geme to third in the Elizabeth group.

Group Standings and Promotion/Relegation:

She Corporate leads the Elizabeth group with 18 points, while Isra Soccer Academy and Dynamic Jjeza sit in the relegation zone with two points each.

Olila HS WFC tops the Victoria group with 12 points, while Ehcos occupies the relegation zone with three points and a game in hand.

Two bottom teams from Elizabeth and one from Victoria will be relegated, while the top teams from each group gain automatic promotion to the topflight.

Each group plays three rounds, with Elizabeth teams playing 18 games and Victoria teams playing 15. The winners of each group will clash in the final to determine the 2023/24 FUFA Women Elite League champion.
