Nineteen goals in six matches lit up the Women’s Super League weekend, but none made more noise than Makerere University Ladies shocking unbeaten leaders Kawempe Muslim on their own turf.

Makerere hand Kawempe first defeat

In the intimidating Valley of Kawempe, Makerere refused to be the next routine casualty. Two goals in four first half minutes stunned the home crowd and delivered the upset of the season.

Rashida Nankya struck in the 19th minute before Josephine Ndagire added a swift second. Kawempe hit the woodwork several times, but goalkeeper Grace Nassande was unbeatable throughout.

The loss ends Kawempe’s eight-match winning run, though they stay top with 25 points. Makerere move six points above the relegation zone after ten games, a significant step in their survival mission.

Champions escape in Amus showdown

Amus took an early lead through Edinah Nasipwondi and seemed on course for a statement win. 

But Catherine Nagadya’s strike midway through the second half rescued the champions from what would’ve been a third straight defeat.

Lady Doves hit four past Rines

In Masindi, Lady Doves tore through a Rines defence that had previously kept things tight.

Sumayiya Nsisi scored twice, while Cecilia Apiding and Resty Kobusobozi added the others. 

The win pushes Lady Doves six points clear of danger.

Uganda Martyrs punish Asubo

Asubo’s struggles continued as they shipped four more goals, taking their tally to 11 conceded in three games. 

Maureen Kizza, Auki Kigongo, Nusulah Nakintu and Shallon Nabowa all scored as Uganda Martyrs eased to victory at a venue once considered a fortress.

Saturday Thriller: She Corporate close the Gap as She Maroons humbled St Noa Girls

She Corporate opened the weekend by edging Olira High School 3–2 in Njeru. 

League top scorer Jesca Namanda grabbed her eighth of the campaign, with Sandra Kisakye and Hairat Babirye also on target.

Olila’s Brenda Atwani scored twice late on, but She Corporate held on, cutting Kawempe’s lead to just two points as the title race tightens.

In Luzira, She Maroons through, a Nancy Mandera own goal and Lillian Kasuubo settler cleared a currently coach less St. Noa Girls to go fourth on the Log.
