After a long break, the FUFA Women Super League is back this Saturday morning. Uganda Martyrs Lubaga Women Football Club hosts Lady Doves at St Gerald playground, kickoff at 10:00 AM.
The hosts will be looking to get back to winning ways after suffering a 1-0 loss to Kawempe Muslim Ladies FC at home in their previous league game. For Lady Doves they also lost 1-0 to Rines SS WFC in Wakisha in their previous league game.
In the first leg, Uganda Martyrs narrowly defeated Lady Doves 1-0 in Masindi thanks to Rebecca Nandhego’s lone strike.
Uganda Martyrs Holds Historical Advantage
This will be the sixth time the two teams are meeting in the FUFA Women Super League and Uganda Martyrs have won 4 and lost once in the last five games.
In the last five games between the two sides, the hosts have scored 11 goals and conceded 7 goals. The last home game against Lady Doves, the Kidawalime won 2-1.
Speaking ahead of Lady Doves encounter, Uganda Martyrs gaffer Ssozi Edward Kasozi is aware of the team’s recent poor performance and they want to get positive points.
”We badly want to get back to winning ways, we have a poor run in the last games but I believe we have worked on every department and we’re going to rejuvenate starting with Saturday’s game,” said a brave Kasozi.

After completing her return to Uganda Martyrs, new signing Gloria Namugerwa is set to make her league debut on Saturday for her childhood club against her former paymasters.
”We had a successful last training and the entire squad responded well to the tactics, are ready to implement them against Lady Doves and win the game,” said Namugerwa.
Sitting sixth, Uganda Martyrs will go to the fourth position with 15 points if UCU fail to beat Kampala Queens while a victory for the visitors, will help them go to fourth position with 15 points and only one point behind She Maroons.
Kiddawalime will only miss the services of striker Brenda Munyana who is suspended after getting a red card in the last league game against Kawempe Muslim.
For the Believers, they’ll miss midfielder Winnie Nabbale who’s injured but the rest of the squad is available for selection.
