Skipper Barbra Anomo struck in stoppage time to earn St. Noa Girls a dramatic 1-1 draw against table leaders Kawempe Muslim Ladies as the second round of the 2025/26 FUFA Women Super League began on Saturday.

At Muteesa II Stadium, Kawempe looked on course for all three points after Latifah Nakasi gave them the lead late in the first half.

But Anomo had the final say, pouncing in added time to secure a deserved point for the hosts.

Kawempe broke the deadlock three minutes before the break. Dorcus Kisakye split the defence with a precise through ball and Nakasi calmly finished past Uganda U20 goalkeeper Lillian Nakirya in a tight first half.

Nakirya kept St. Noa in the game after the restart. She denied Agnes Nabukenya twice and kept out Jovia Nakagolo with a string of fine saves to earn player of the match honours.

The match was briefly halted after a head collision between Kawempe’s Krusum Namutebi and Imelda Kesimire.

Namutebi was taken to hospital, and coach Ayub Khalifa later confirmed she had stabilised.

St. Noa improved in the second half, with substitutes Martha Babirye, Dorcus Lwalisa and Esther Babirye adding energy despite heavy rain disrupting play.

Their pressure paid off in the first minute of stoppage time when Anomo reacted quickest to a handling error by goalkeeper Josephine Namwanje and fired home to spark celebrations.

The result keeps Kawempe top on 29 points, while St. Noa stay seventh on 14 but for the hosts, it felt like a statement.

Elsewhere, Uganda Martyrs beat Lady Doves 2-0 through Maureen Auki Kigogo and captain Gloria Namugerwa.
