Kampala Queens had to dig deep to overturn an early setback and edge Makerere University WFC 2–1 in a tense Women’s Super League clash on Saturday at the Phillip Omondi Stadium, Lugogo.

Makerere made a dream start, silencing the home crowd in the third minute when captain Josephine Ndagire coolly finished to put the students ahead. They defended their lead with discipline, frustrating the champions through the first half.

After the break, Kampala Queens regrouped and made tactical changes that paid off immediately. Substitute Joan Ainembabazi leveled the score just three minutes after coming on.

The game looked headed for a draw until the second minute of stoppage time, when Kamiyati Naigaga struck the winner, sparking wild celebrations in the stands. It was her second goal in as many matches, further cementing her importance to the champions’ attack.

Elsewhere, Kawempe Muslim came from behind to beat Olila High School 3–1, thanks to goals from Shadia Nabirye, Agnes Nabukenya, and Latifah Nakasi, while Brenda Atwani got Olila’s consolation. Rines SS and Asubo Ladies shared the spoils in a goalless draw.

The weekend action wraps up on Sunday with Uganda Martyrs Lubaga hosting Amus College, Lady Doves facing St. Noa Girls, and She Maroons taking on She Corporate.
