  • Kampala Queens 8-0 Asubo Ladies

New signings Loyce Komugisha and Rinah Ariho made an instant impact as Kampala Queens thrashed Asubo Ladies 8-0 on Saturday at Phillip Omondi Stadium, Lugogo.

Under the dark, rainy skies, the Queens of Soccer produced the biggest win in their history, bouncing back strongly after dropping points to Rines the previous weekend.

With the title race tightening, they needed a response and delivered one in emphatic fashion.

Komugisha opened her account for the club to set the tone, while Ariho calmly added her debut goal soon after. From there, Kampala Queens never looked back.

Marion Amangat and Patience Nabuloobi each scored their first goals for the club, finishing off well worked moves that tore through Asubo’s defence.

Zaitun Namaganda struck twice with clinical precision, Catherine Nagadya also got on the scoresheet, and an own goal summed up Asubo’s difficult afternoon.

For Asubo Ladies, rooted at the bottom with four points and still without a win, it was another harsh lesson against a side chasing bigger targets.

The victory lifts Kampala Queens to 25 points in third place, seven behind leaders She Corporate and Kawempe Muslim, who also won their matches to get to 32.

Elsewhere Rines SS WFC thrashed Olila H/S WFC 4-1, Makerere University WFC at home were edged by St Noa Girls FC 2-3 and Lady Doves edged She Maroons 1-0.
