The FUFA Women’s Super League returns this weekend with Matchday 2 action on Friday and Saturday, as teams push to stamp early authority on the 2025/26 season.

All eyes will be on the Phillip Omondi Stadium, Lugogo, where defending champions Kampala Queens face Makerere University WFC in one of the weekend’s headline fixtures.

Kampala Queens are looking to bounce back after a frustrating 1–1 draw with Valley Warriors on opening day, a result that exposed some inefficiency in front of goal despite their strong pedigree and recent CECAFA Zonal Qualifiers form. Head coach Asefa will demand a sharper, more clinical display from his players.

But they’ll face a determined Makerere University side that showed fighting spirit in their 1–1 draw against Rines SS WFC, snatching a late equalizer through Rebecca Nakasito.

Makerere University Ladies Football Team.

That resilience could make them dangerous opponents for the champions.

History suggests a tight contest, Kampala Queens have won just twice in their last six meetings, with the other four ending in draws.

Elsewhere, Palace Queens host She Mak Ladies in their first home game of the season, aiming to build on their opening-day draw against Kawempe Muslim Ladies. Assistant coach Sharon Kizza is confident:

“Our players are fit and ready. We’ve worked on our defensive issues and will stay true to our attacking game because we need goals. To our fans, please come out and support us; your energy makes the difference.”
