Kawempe Muslim Ladies FC moved back to the top of the table after a 2–0 victory over She Corporate on Sunday in a crucial Matchday 15 clash.

The match, played on a soggy pitch after heavy rain delayed kickoff, was decided by goals from Jovia Nakagolo and substitute Kevin Nanyunja.

Kawempe came into the game trailing She Corporate by two points, but the victory saw them leapfrog their rivals and reclaim the summit.

She Corporate nearly took the lead early on when Jesca Namanda’s effort struck the crossbar.

Instead, Kawempe struck first in the ninth minute. Nakagolo took advantage of a mix-up between the goalkeeper and defender to calmly tap into an empty net.

The visitors searched for an equalizer before the break, with Sumaya Komuntale coming closest, but her effort drifted wide. Kawempe also created chances through Nakagolo and Asia Nakibuka, but they carried a narrow 1–0 lead into halftime.

She Corporate started the second half strongly and almost leveled the score when former Kawempe striker Rebecca Nakato forced a fine save from goalkeeper Saidat Namwanje with a well-struck free kick.

Their hopes of a comeback faded when goalkeeper Molly Naava was sent off for handling the ball outside the penalty area, reducing the visitors to ten players.

Kawempe made the advantage count late on as Nanyunja sealed the win with a second goal four minutes from time, sparking celebrations among the home fans.

The result means Kawempe have now beaten She Corporate home and away this season, having also won 2–0 in their first meeting.

Ayub Khalifah’s side now lead the table with 36 points, one ahead of She Corporate on 35.

Kawempe next face Amus College away on Saturday, while She Corporate host Makerere University.

Elsewhere, Makerere University defeated She Maroons 1–0, while Amus College and Lady Doves drew 0–0 in Masindi.

On Saturday Olila High School WFC drew goalless with Asubo Ladies FC, Kampala Queens lost 1-0 to St Noa Girls in Lugogo and Rines SS WFC drew 1-1 with Uganda Martyrs High School WFC.
