Match day 12 of FUFA Women Super League climaxes today with an exciting and big game as table leaders Kawempe Muslim host third placed She Maroons at 4PM, in Kawempe.

Victory for Kawempe would solidify their position at the top of the table, extending their lead over second placed Kampala Queens to a significant three points.

This is a crucial match for both teams, with She Maroons looking to cause an upset and close the gap on the current frontrunners to five points.

Head-to-Head

Kawempe Muslim holds the upper hand, winning twice and drawing once in their previous three league meetings. The first leg this season ended in a goalless draw at Luzira, with She Maroons holding Kawempe.

However, Kawempe dominated their last home game against She Maroons, securing a 3-1 victory with Aisha Nantongo (now in Denmark) scoring a brace, and Hadijah Nandago adding one.

She Maroons come into the match seeking their first league win over Kawempe. They’ll be buoyed by their recent 3-0 away win against UCU Lady Cardinals and hope to replicate that performance.

Players to Watch

Kawempe’s Agnes Nabukenya leads the scorers’ chart with seven goals, while She Maroons’ Jackline Adong trails closely with six goals. Both players will be looking to add to their tallies.

Speaking to media, She Maroons head coach Simon Peter Ochuka is optimistic that his team can get positive results from Kawempe.

“In the last game, we narrowly lost 1-0 to Kampala Queens in the Women’s cup, but we have managed to organize the team to go to Kawempe and pick positive results,” said confident Ochuka.

She Maroons have their Full squad available for selection while Kawempe will continue to miss the services of last season’s league MVP and top scorer Shakirah Nyinagahirwa – who hasn’t played a single minute for the Valley Warriors this season.
