The FUFA Women’s Super League saw another exciting weekend of action in Matchday 14, with close encounters, crucial victories, and a top scorer shake-up.
Survival Fight
She Makerere edged out Wakiso Hill WFC 1-0 thanks to a late strike from Sharon Namotuvu, securing their second win of the season and climbing out of the relegation zone on 15 points.
The win was the first for She Makerere at home and only their second overall this season, both victories came against the same opponent and with the same scoreline. Wakiso Hill remained second from the bottom with 12 points, 2 from safety.
Namotuvu’s goal puts her just one behind joint-leaders Jackline Adong (She Maroons) and Agnes Nabukenya (Kawempe Muslim), both on eight goals.
Kampala Queens Held, Again!
The defending champions were held to a goalless draw by Uganda Martyrs WFC at the in Lubaga, extending their winless streak to three games – all draws.
The Queens of soccer once again failed to win with a shabby display on the pitch and while they remain in second place, they are now five points behind Kawempe Muslim albeit with a game in hand on the table leaders.
She Maroons & Kawempe Muslim Bounce Back
Both teams bounced back from recent defeats, with She Maroons claiming a 2-0 home win over Asubo Ladies and Kawempe Muslim edging Rines SS WFC 2-1.
Midfielder Jackline Adong capitalized from the spot and Doreen Monica Nakayiwa added another as She Maroons got back to winning ways in Luzira and reclaimed third place with 22 points. Adong’s strike took her league tally to eight goals.
In-form Allen Nassazi and Agnes Nabukenya scored for the Valley Warriors to keep their title dream alive while Odula Immaculate netted the consolation goal for visiting Rines.
Nabukenya’s goal for Kawempe ensured that the forward kept pace with She Maroon’s Adong as the race for the top scorer heats up.
