Kawempe Muslim Ladies FC stormed to the top of the FUFA Women Super League with a 2-0 win over She Corporate, ending the Sharks’ unbeaten run in a lively Matchday 6 encounter at the FUFA Technical Center, Njeru, on Sunday morning.

Latifah Nakasi was the star of the show, scoring twice inside the opening 20 minutes to secure all three points for Kawempe. 

Her first came just seconds after kickoff, a stunning opener that left She Corporate’s backline flat-footed.

Eighteen minutes later, Nakasi struck again with a composed finish to double the lead and cap off a brilliant personal display that earned her the Player of the Match award.

The result lifted Kawempe Muslim to 16 points, two ahead of Kampala Queens who are on 14. She Corporate dropped to third with 13 points.

Elsewhere Around the League

At Kampala Quality Grounds, Asubo Ladies’ search for a first win went on after a 2-2 draw with Olila High School. 

Mercy Nimunsima and Faiza Bint Ibrahim scored for Asubo, while Mary Allegonda Lotyang’s brace rescued Olila.

Both sides remain winless, Asubo sit 10th with four points, Olila bottom with three. Asubo visit Lady Doves in Masindi next, while Olila host St Noa Girls.

In Luzira, She Maroons edged Makerere University 2-1 in a tight contest, while in Bukedea, Amus College eased past Lady Doves 2-0 to hand the visitors their third defeat of the season.

Saturday Round-Up

Kampala Queens continued their fine form with a narrow 1-0 win over St Noa Girls at Wankulukuku. 

Catherine Nagadya, a former St Noa student, scored the decisive goal in the 36th minute to win it for Kampala Queens.

Goalkeeper Lillian Nakirya kept St Noa in the game with several crucial saves, but Kampala Queens held firm to claim the win that initially took them top but now lay firmly in second.

Rines SS finally celebrated their first victory of the season, edging Uganda Martyrs Lubaga 1-0. 

Yasmeen Nalukwago capitalized on a goalkeeping error by Joan Namusisi in the 27th minute to score the lone goal.

Rines goalkeeper Bridget Nansamba pulled off key saves to preserve the win and was named Player of the Match. 

The result lifted Rines to fourth with seven points, while Uganda Martyrs dropped to ninth with five.
