Arua Hill SC captain and midfielder GADAFFI WAHAB a.k.a Thiago Alcantara, one of the best free-kick takers in the league is our star ⭐️ of the day.
Born in Adjumani and inspired by the legendary Samson Caesar Okhuti, Wahab took to the sport at an early age, playing for traditional giants Old Kampala SS, St. Julian High School – Gayaza, and St. Mary’s SS Kitende during his formative years.
His club career started at Doves All Stars FC as a teenager before joining then regional league side, Onduparaka FC in 2014.
Wahab grew into an important player at Onduparaka and was among the goals as the Caterpillars, only formed in 2011, beat Sporting 3-0 in 2016 to secure topflight football for the first time.

Wahab’s transfer from Onduparaka
Most of the core players at the record breaking Onduparaka were poached by the bigger Clubs but Wahab remained loyal until January 2020 when he, as club captain, made the switch to Wakiso Giants FC, re-uniting with his former coach Livingstone Mbabazi.
In 2021, Wahab joined new UPL entrants Arua Hill SC, his second stint at the Club having featured for them (then Doves FC) during the 2018/19 season in the FUFA Big League.
Wahab has been inspirational for Arua Hill, scoring an impressive 11 goals and assisting 17 times in the league since rejoining the Kongolo.
He was nominated in best midfielder of the 2022/23 season category alongside, Lawrence Bukenya and eventual winner Laban Tibiita.
Uncertain future
Recent turmoil at the Club has increased speculation linking the midfielder to local giants KCCA FC and most recently Vipers SC, a club which acquired the services of Livingstone Mbabazi from Arua Hill as head coach, at the start of 2024.
Despite his obvious talent and consistency, Wahab is yet to feature for the national team, the Uganda Cranes, and has kept the door open to switching nationality.
“No one has denied me a chance to play for Uganda Cranes, and if the opportunity comes to play for either Uganda Cranes or the South Sudan national team, I will surely embrace it,” Wahab affirmed.
This means more!
