Uganda’s swimming star Anna Gloria Muzito continued her brilliant run at the 2025 Islamic Solidarity Games, winning another gold medal in the 100m freestyle on Tuesday evening.
Muzito clocked 55.26 seconds to finish ahead of Turkey’s Gizem Guvenc (55.47) and Senegal’s Oumy Diop (57.48) at the Olympic Swimming Pool Complex in Riyadh.

The victory marks her second gold and third medal overall at the Games, adding to her earlier gold in the 50m freestyle and silver in the 200m freestyle.
“The race was amazing,” Muzito said after the win. “I’m humbled by this achievement and proud to deliver another gold for Uganda. It’s a team effort.”
Earlier in the day, Muzito had settled for silver in the 200m freestyle, finishing in 2:04.99, just behind Turkey’s Ecem Donmez Ogretir (2:03.89). Tunisia’s Defne Tanig came third with 2:07.43.
Muzito’s success has lifted Uganda’s medal tally to four, with boxer Alfred Ojok also earning a bronze in the light heavyweight (80kg) category.
Uganda’s delegation at the Games features competitors in swimming, boxing, table tennis, and weightlifting, with athletics, para-powerlifting, and wrestling set to join next week.
