Futsal fans witnessed a goal-fest during match day thirteen of the Futsal Super League, with a staggering 55 goals netted across six thrilling matches.
The action unfolded between Thursday, March 7th, and Friday, March 8th, 2024, at the Old Kampala Futsal Arena.
Park FC got back to winning ways after beating Aidenal 3-1 to maintain their undefeated run at the top of the table. Shafik Mulangira‘s crucial third goal secured the victory for the 2021 champions.
After sharing points in a stalemate with Nansana last week, this win extends their lead over second-placed FC Luzira to five points.
Mengo City Upsets Nansana
In a surprising turn of events, Mengo City FC edged out Nansana ASKA FC 3-2, marking their third consecutive win for the first time this season.
Despite trailing 2-1 in the first half, Mengo displayed a strong comeback, scoring two unanswered goals to clinch the victory. John Musasizi netted the winner, while Mengo’s Herbert Kalema received a red card during the match.
Kisugu FC emerged victorious in a nail-biting 16-goal encounter against Lubaga Grameen, defeating them 9-7.
Kampala Junior Team FC secured a narrow but significant 2-0 victory over Kabowa Dream FC in the opening match on Friday.
Kisenyi FC piled on the misery for winless Kawempe FC, thrashing them 10-4. Abdulkarim Abdullahi of Kisenyi stole the show, scoring a record-breaking eight goals, becoming the first player ever to achieve this feat in a single match.
FC Luzira wrapped up Match Day 13 with a dominant 12-2 win against Edgars Youth Programme. Samuel Omara and Arafat Ssentongo each netted a hat-trick for Luzira, to maintain their second-place position behind Park FC.
