God’s Way Matugga is set to make its debut at Wakiso district in the chase for qualification to the Uganda Secondary school Sports Association (USSSA) Boys football Championship, having started USSSA football involvement last year when they slightly missed qualifying.
Schools like Kawanda SS and Kawempe SS represented Magonjo Zone at last year’s district, and God’s Way Matugga joins them as a result of increased slots from two to three per Zone.
This time, the fortune for the new school in the system has appeared and drawn in Group A with giant St Mary’s Boarding School, Kitende.

At the qualifiers to be held on Tuesday in Nsanji Zone, God’s Way is also along with Cityland Matugga and Kawempe Royal in a group which contains five teams.
The top two teams from the eight groups shall qualify for the Round of 16 in search of the schools to represent Wakiso at Nationals in Bukedi.
Wakiso had already lost a slot when St Jullian Mukono won the USSSA National Championship in Masaka. Kitende, Buddo, and Standard High Zana are likely favourites to make it into the 5 slots.
With two slots remaining, schools like Kyadondo SS, St Andrews Kaggwa Gombe SS, Andy Mwesigwa Comprehensive, Kakungulu High School, Greenlight Islamic and London College Nansana and any other schools likely to upset odds seem to be shortened with chances.
The Qualifier shall go on from Tuesday, 8th to Sunday, 13th at Various grounds across the Nsangi Zone.
