As various Buganda Counties (Masaza) for the Buganda Masaza Cup 2026, the record champions Gomba have commenced their greed for victory by training their team leaders for the 2026 tournament.
The workshop was held at the home of the host district Kabulasoke PTC, where the spokesperson of the team preparation committee, Ibrahim Bossa, said,
“This morning, on Saturday, June 21st, 2026, we had a workshop at Kabulasoke PTC intended to train the Committee tasked to lead Gomba Ssaza football team, as well as to inform each member of his or her responsibilities.”
The training was led by Saddam Sebuyiira, Deputy Secretary of the Buganda Masaza Cup Football Organizing Committee.
It is to be recalled that a week ago, Gomba Ssaza Chief (Kitunzi) Fred Williams Mugabi announced a 10-member committee led by Dr. Jane Namatovu to organize the Gomba Ssaza team.
Before the training, the committee brought back Gomba native Felix Ssekabuuza, who won the tournament when he coached and guided Buwekula to their first trophy last year.
Gomba have been failing to make it out of the group stage in the past two seasons since coach Ssekabuuza left them when he was unhappy in 2023, and it has been said by Masaza cup followers that he cursed the Gomba Ssaza team.
