Buganda Masaza Cup record champions Gomba Lions have today, April 8, unveiled Felix Ssekabuuza as head coach and his backroom staff ahead of the 2026 season.

Felix Ssekabuuza handed his jersey.

At the unveiling event held at Green View Gardens and Restaurant, Ssekabuuza stated, “I am happy that I have returned to Gomba. I am not here because I was born in Gomba, but I am here to work. For the last two seasons, Gomba have failed to go through the group stage, and it is our first target.”

“This is my fourth time here, and whenever I have been here, we reached finals, won trophies, and this time with my team, we shall do our best to bring happiness to the people of Gomba this year,” he added.

At the same event, Gomba Lions team manager Resty Mbatidde Namugema stated, “I am glad that today we have unveiled our coaches headed by Felix Ssekabuza. He is a winner, and he has been here on different stints, and he has won trophies with us.”

At Gomba, Ssekabuza will be assisted by Davis Nnono, who assisted him while winning with Buwekula last season, as they seek to retain the trophy as coaches.

Assistant Coach Davis Nnono.

Last season, Gomba appointed Simon Dungu and Simon Gita, who had won the Masaza Cup with Buddu previously; however, the season ended in misery.
