The inaugural Gulu City Marathon is set to take place on December 7th, 2024, aiming to raise funds for improving the quality of education in the Gulu city community.
The event launch, held on October 19th, 2024, at the Kampala Club Nakasero, revealed exciting details. Mark Ongom, Chairman of the Gulu City Marathon Organizing Board, announced that 10% of the proceeds will directly benefit the Dera Kwan initiative, an organization dedicated to enhancing education in Northern Uganda.
“Participating in the marathon offers a chance for runners to contribute directly to education reform in Northern Uganda,” Ongom explained.
