After a disappointing Gulu 7s, Heathens Rugby Football Club claimed the Men’s Plascon Entebbe Sevens crown after beating Gulu 7s champions Buffaloes 17-07 in a thrilling final on Sunday at the Sai-Pali Institute of Technology and Management.

The highly anticipated Kyadondo derby delivered on its promise, with Heathens showcasing superior pace, power, and tactical discipline to seal the win.

Buffaloes, fresh from their Gulu 7s triumph, struggled to match Heathens’ intensity in the decider.

Earlier, Heathens stormed into the final by overpowering KOBs 12-0 in the semifinals, while Buffaloes edged Coronation 7s champions Walukuba Barbarians to book their spot.

KOBs recovered from their semifinal loss to beat Walukuba 12-07 and secure third place.

Hosts Plascon Mongers, however, failed to capitalize on home advantage, falling 19-14 to Buffaloes in the quarterfinals.

In the women’s category, Nile Rapids celebrated their first-ever Plascon Entebbe 7s title after edging Gulu 7s champions Avengers 07-05 in a tense final.
