Ugandan rugby talent Wycliff Santos Ssenteza is set to embark on an exciting new chapter in his career after securing a loan transfer to Belhar Rugby Football Club in South Africa.
The move, facilitated by his parent club, Heathens Rugby Football Club, is part of the Greater African Rugby Program, an initiative aimed at exposing players to high-level training and competitive rugby.
Following extensive consultations and a thorough review of the program, Heathens RFC’s Executive Committee approved the loan deal, effective immediately until November 2025.

With the transfer now finalized, Ssenteza is expected to depart for South Africa this week, where he will integrate into his new team and begin training.
This move will see the promising prop compete in the Western Province Super League B, a league known for its intensity and ability to nurture top rugby talent.
The exposure to high-performance training and a competitive playing environment is expected to be a game changer in Ssenteza’s development.
The loan transfer is not only beneficial for Ssenteza but also marks a significant milestone for Heathens RFC and Ugandan rugby as a whole.
By gaining international experience, Ssenteza will return as a more skilled and seasoned player, ready to contribute at a higher level both for his club and for the national team.
This move is set to lay the foundation for a stronger partnership between Heathens and Belhar Rugby Football Club.
If successful, it could pave the way for more Ugandan players to gain international experience, fostering growth and competitiveness within the sport.
