With two months ahead of the SC Villa leadership election for the 2025-2026 term, Presidential aspirant Hajji Meywa Farouk has boldly answered why he only sees the club’s transition by taking Hajji Omar Mandela off the club’s Presidency.

Speaking to the fourth estate during a press briefing held on Tuesday, January 27, at Old Kampala, the ardent SC Villa fan stated,

“This is the time to have our SC Villa getting elections, and I am here by confirming my interest in standing for the presidency, though many believe that I would have joined Hajji Mandela and we work together, but his pride is beyond manageable.”

“His conduct can’t be worked with; he thinks that he is superior to others, which is why many SC Villa figures have tried to work with him and fail.”

On the team’s leadership status, Hajji Meywa is worried about the time frame of having elections in two months and that there is still no election roadmap.

Therefore, he calls on the Federation of Uganda Football Association to intervene, “It is scary that, through the board of trustees, they told us that the election will be held in March 2026, but to date, there is no roadmap designed.”

“I feel like something is wrong, and I believe FUFA must intervene and take us through the electoral process because it is for an entity like SC Villa to be without leadership in place, and I don’t understand how FUFA deals with such a member who has been out of leadership since November 2025.”

This is not the first time for Hajji Farouk Meywa to announce his interest in becoming SC Villa president, but he has been on the case on multiple occasions in different terms.

Since the overstaying leadership entered into the last year of their term, Hajji Meywa started to show his interests, and with the time already done for the leadership, the former SC Villa goalkeeper continues with objections.
